It’s a hard life – slurping from a personalised water bottle and trying to decide whether to sit on a swinging seat or a bean bag. I’d love to see inside those fridges because you don’t see them eat much do you? Their bodies [...]
Welcome to the Laura Clark Nutrition blog – helping each and every one of you access nutrition sense and eat it real.
The nutrition and health world has exploded onto the internet – we are overwhelmed with facts, fads, false claims and frustration. Everyone – including those not even qualified - seems obsessed with labelling food but we don’t understand the labels that already exist.
Food is a basic human need and yet so many people struggle to get it right and our environment certainly isn’t helping us. The media loves to define things and make it black and white with what will kill you one day being the secret to a long life the next.
What I feel is missing is honest, practical, impartial advice that translates the science and facts into simple language that’s easy to understand and apply in everyday life situations.
The blog is based on the ‘eat it real’ concept – real life, evidence based, easy to understand nutrition information. My commitment to you is that I have no agenda and I’m not trying to sell you a product. I do practice evidence based nutrition and I know lots of clever research people! I will tell you it straight. I will help you understand what your body needs and how you can improve your relationship with food.
I will help you to #eatitreal.

A very wise dietitian once said to me – exercise experts and nutrition experts – like dentists and gynaecologists – they’re both brilliant but you wouldn’t want them swapping ends! How true a statement! Social media has got the world talking about nutrition like [...]
Well yes I think I do thanks for asking. ‘Macros’ seem to have undergone a trendy transformation. Back in the day on my lecture notes they were referred to by their full name – macronutrients. Now they are the subject of huge debate with [...]
I recently had the pleasure of meeting some of the UK’s most inspirational #lifestylebloggers (Vicki, Alison, Becky, Kate) to name but a few and giving them some advice as part of the #smallchanges campaign. After they had some pearls of wisdom from me, they went [...]
The latest episode of The Apprentice has left me tutting loudly at the television and has in turn inspired me to give my thoughts on the shelves of the health food shop… what would and wouldn’t go into my basket… First picks Cereal bars [...]
They say you should detox If you own a liver and kidney you are detoxing 24/7. Check if you have these and if you do, don’t panic. To help them along keep well hydrated and don’t drink alcohol in excess. They say you should [...]
The rise in popularity of gluten or rather lack of it over the last few years has astounded me. The range of gluten free products available on the market has increased significantly. A potential plus for the 1 in a 100 people suffering with [...]
