We enjoyed making these today – I like this recipe because it’s super simple and uses cup measures which avoids having to weigh things, which involves me being more hands on and I couldn’t be today because I’m not an octopus.

They’re also packed full of fibre – don’t make me work out how much, my head is full and we’re all surviving #lockdown. BUT they defo provide more fibre than a biscuit and are really tasty too.

So, you’ll need a dry bowl and a jug (the wet bowl):

In the dry bowl put:

  • 1 cup self raising wholemeal flour (sifted)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups bran (we used crushed branflakes)
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips (your child will have a different definition of a sprinkle than you)

In the wet bowl put:

  • 1/2 cup semi skimmed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp veg oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Mash up 3 very ripe bananas.

Mix wet with dry and add the bananas. Bake for 20-25 mins at 180 degrees.
